Christine Alfery holds three post-graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin. She is a signature member of six national watercolor societies. She has won over 65 national awards and has published over sixty publications. She currently is the volunteer curator of the Howard Young Art Gallery, promoting the visual arts in her community. Christine creates experimental works in watermedia on paper and canvas. She paints the abstract essence of nature.

Small precious studies to learn how to do transparent watercolors in a different way from the accepted normal way of creating them. Challenging the foundations of my own way of working and challenging the standard compositional choices of most transparent water-colorists. The challenge for me and the requirement of transparent watercolors is no ink – no white – lots of washes.
